God alone will satisfy in the end and therefore should be sought and savored as the only satisfaction here and now.

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

There is no other fountain for this water, no other tower for this protection, no other seal with this authority, no other Lover for this heart. God is not merely one of a great number of alternatives in a smorgasbord of options.  God and God alone will suffice.

5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. 7 On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

There is no other true God, don’t bother placing trust in false hopes; rather, trust in Him at all times.

8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

How much significance should be placed upon other options?  Answer: zero.  If you put them all on a scale, their total weight adds up to nothing.

9 Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.

Don’t set your heart on evil ways, even  if they offer temporal success.

10 Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

In the end, the steadfastly loving, powerful, all-knowing, truth-telling, justice-establishing Triune God will render to everyone according to his holy standards.

11 Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, 12 and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.

There is no other God like this.
