This week’s FighterVerse (1 Thessalonians 5:14-22) reminded me of the Scripture memory strategy that was introduced to me in college.

I did it for a few years back then and eventually stopped. But I’ve revived the method again recently, and I’m using my own version of the tally sheet that it requires. I’m not sure what it was called originally, but I’ve titled mine the 7×7 Scripture Memory Strategy (PDF, instructions included).

Years ago I memorized a part of this week’s FighterVerse via that method, and I have not yet forgotten it (which is why I still have a little NIV in me). If you maintain the small amount of discipline needed to keep up with the routine, I believe you’ll find that the verses you put through it will stay with you for a long time.

(Sally Michael recommends another great strategy in the comment she left a few weeks ago.)
